LSX Magazine’s Article on Valvetrain to Match Your Camshaft

The General Motors LS-based engines respond very well to higher-performing camshaft swaps. But, the higher lift, heavier spring loads, and high-rpm operation can wreak havoc on those OEM rocker arm assemblies. Performance Racing Warehouse (PRW) offers several valvetrain upgrades engineered to work with the higher loads typically experienced when using a performance camshaft. PRW is known for offering great value on branded components you can trust.

LSX Magazine’s Article on our Double Roller Timing Chain Sets

Get Rolling With A Double Roller Timing Set From PRW Industries

Anytime you build an engine, the timing chain tends to be one of those parts that isn’t given a lot of thought, especially if a stock engine is the starting point for the build. However, if you’ve ever witnessed the carnage of valvetrain destruction that can occur when a timing chain decides to exit the chat, you will want to give some careful consideration. Enter the PQx LS double roller timing chain set from Performance Racing Warehouse (PRW).

The PQx Double Roller Timing Set for the LS7 is much stronger and more durable than the factory parts and will not prematurely fail or stretch like most single roller timing sets.

PRW has made a name for itself by offering branded, high-performance aftermarket parts that are value priced. Their parts are made in the USA with a focus on keeping components in stock on their shelves. Both aspects are keys to success during the recent supply chain issues that have plagued almost all industries.

The PQx double roller timing set includes timing sprockets machined from billet steel and a large .250-inch seamless double roller chain for longevity. The set also comes with a nine-keyway crank sprocket. This allows for advance or retard adjustments in two-degree increments for a total of eight degrees of adjustment. Offset bushings in the set make cam indexing easy, and the set will fit under most stock timing chain covers (occasional minor machining may be required for clearance in some applications).

PRW has the PQx double roller timing sets available for Gen III and IV engines, including the LS7, LS3, LS2, and LS6. The best part is that these are kept in stock and ready to ship. So if you need to upgrade from the factory timing set or assemble a new build and don’t want to worry about any timing set issues down the road, give these a look.

Diesel Army: HiPo Rocker System Project DeadSpool To Get A Valvetrain Upgrade

Diesel Army has a new article up about our Dodge Cummins Pedestal Rocker System.  Here’s a snippet:

In my honest opinion, in all of the upgrades available for diesel engines, rocker arms are overlooked. We know they are the bridge between the valves and the pushrods of an engine, but other than that, they get used for valve adjustment and we move on. When you take something like Project Deadspool, something that is constantly abused, valve adjustment should be maintained more often.

Just recently, I had the valve cover off of the engine at a race for a valve adjustment and I was noticing some noise during idle and even at open throttle. I was hoping this could cure it and once inside, I discovered that some of the valves have been adjusted way too tight and some of the plastic caps that separate the rocker and the bridge were broken.

Proposition 65 Compliance Statement

PROPOSITION 65 COMPLIANCE STATEMENT

The California Safe Drinking Water & Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Prop 65) Explained:
In 1986, California voters approved an initiative to address concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. That initiative became the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65.

Proposition 65 requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. This list, which must be updated at least once a year, has grown to include over 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987.
Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide Californians with a clear and reasonable warning about chemicals in the products they purchase, in their home or workplace, or that are released into the environment. By providing this information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about protecting themselves from exposure to these chemicals. Proposition 65 also prohibits California businesses from knowingly discharging significant amounts of listed chemicals into sources of drinking water.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program. OEHHA, which is part of the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA), also evaluates all currently available scientific information on substances considered for placement on the Proposition 65 list.

What this means to you:
While the proposition was created to protect drinking water sources from chemical contamination, the scope of the law has expanded over the years. It now includes over 900 chemicals and also pertains to (but is not limited to) exposure through touch, inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact.
The Proposition 65 warning can now be found on products that may contain a small amount of over 900 chemicals or ingredients that the OEHHA lists as a carcinogen or reproductive toxicant. This includes vinyl, coatings, plastics, and much more.
Many of the elements listed under Proposition 65 are common everyday additives found in products like electrical wire, cable, coated fabrics, steering wheels, shoes, gloves, tonneau covers, bed liners, oil filter wrenches, brake pads, floor mats, etc.

Because of the vast array of products that might contain one of the chemicals or ingredients on the list, we must include Proposition 65 warnings in our communications with you. We are required to use exact wording as specified by the state of California. While the warning sounds alarming, the purpose is to notify you of the potential risk so that you can make an informed buying decision.
