Steve Whipple Joins PRW as President and General Manager


PERRIS, CA (October 31, 2022) PRW International (PRW), a designer and global manufacturer of racing and performance aftermarket engine parts and accessories today announced that Steve Whipple has joined the company as President and General Manager.

Steve is a veteran automotive industry executive bringing over 40 years of experience driving premium, innovative products to market serving customers with best-in-class support in the automotive aftermarket.

Whipple is a member of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (“SEMA”) Board of Directors as well as the Custom Automotive Network (“CAN”) Board of Directors formally, Performance Warehouse Association (“PWA”)

Most recently, Steve was the Director, Private Label New Markets at JEGS headquartered in Delaware, Ohio which was acquired by Greenbriar Equity Group earlier this year. Steve was charged with finding industry partners where he could collaborate with designing, manufacturing, creating quality control systems, and establishing a marketing strategy that drives the JEGS private brand of products.

Steve also served as Vice President of Edelbrock Sales and Marketing for more than 20 years. Edelbrock is a global manufacturing leader in the performance aftermarket. Steve worked closely with Vic Edelbrock and the engineering group to develop new products that are relevant as well as industry leading. Steve also led Edelbrock’s extensive private label business serving many major brands within the performance industry as well as automobile, marine and farm equipment manufacturers worldwide. Also working with the major resellers such as e-comm retailers, third party sellers, warehouse distributors, large, big box retail stores, etc. Prior to Edelbrock, Steve served as President and CEO of Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) the leader in Nitrous Oxide systems used in automotive racing applications. Steve was also part of the team that supported the Fast and Furious movie franchise with technical and product assistance.

Diesel Army: HiPo Rocker System Project DeadSpool To Get A Valvetrain Upgrade

Diesel Army has a new article up about our Dodge Cummins Pedestal Rocker System.  Here’s a snippet:

 

In my honest opinion, in all of the upgrades available for diesel engines, rocker arms are overlooked. We know they are the bridge between the valves and the pushrods of an engine, but other than that, they get used for valve adjustment and we move on. When you take something like Project Deadspool, something that is constantly abused, valve adjustment should be maintained more often.

Just recently, I had the valve cover off of the engine at a race for a valve adjustment and I was noticing some noise during idle and even at open throttle. I was hoping this could cure it and once inside, I discovered that some of the valves have been adjusted way too tight and some of the plastic caps that separate the rocker and the bridge were broken.

PRW Industries is proud to present our new line of Performance Quotient PQx Shaft Rocker Arm Systems available for Small Block Chevy with AFR 190-195-210 Cylinder Heads or Brodix Track 1 Cylinder Heads.  We off them with a vast array of ratios;  from 1.5, 1.6 and split 1.5 and 1.6 ratios.

These PQx Shaft Rocker Systems are made of 2024 aircraft quality aluminum allow extrusions and are relieved for extra valve spring clearance and anodized for added strength.  They’re rated at 750lbs OSP (open spring pressure) and have an internal oiling system for lasting performance.

PRW has the answer for the racer who’s ready to push the performance envelope with stiffer valve springs, aggressive camshafts, and now AFR or Brodix Track 1 Heads.  Our shaft rocker arm systems offer much more stability than your standard rocker or even a rocker arm set with stud girdles.  Our added ratio options and split ratios also add a great benefit for engine builders and enthusiasts.

2021 Feature Vehicle

PRW is proud to introduce our Project Car for our 2021 Catalog!

Amidst the numerous disruptions caused by COVID-19 this year, PRW has worked hard to maintain our status in the automotive aftermarket parts industry and we’re proud to have upheld our operations along with progressively growing throughout all aspects.  We’ve put in the extra effort to provide our parts and additionally introduce new parts to our product line.

We’d like to introduce another project of ours, set to make a debut on our upcoming 2021 PRW Catalog.  We’ll be working alongside many outstanding companies for this build and will document our progress here.  This blog post will be updated showing steps of our build, which parts and companies we’re working with, and so on.  This will be a great time for all and we’re excited for the journey and final result.

Looking into the best suspension setup? Our 2021 Catalog Car was in need of one too!  We obviously went with Global West Suspension.  We chose the Negative Roll Coilover Front End Kit. Part # COMNR-6466V.  Negative Roll is used for a street /road handling application, which was perfect for our build! We have more Global West parts for the rear also so stay tuned!

Since they are a full service repair and performance shop they have been hard at work offering full paint and body work! The bottom of our mustang is now protected by truck bed liner, and the paint has a great mirror finish!

We’re using Weber Carburetors and their Redline Kit. Their v8 Proline Performance kit was a perfect match for our build.
We have started to put together our chosen transmission kit from Silver Sport Transmissions.

We chose the 65-66 Lower Side Scoops. They actually offer three styles for 65-66 so you’ll be able to choose what fits your style.  Once they’re on and ready, we’ll get down to the nitty gritty and update with more detail!

Quick update on our 2021 Catalog Car! JEP Autoworks has been hard at work and the detail shows 😍
Kilmat Car Sound Deadening Mat is currently being installed with their 80 mil thickness mat.
Other competitors have the thickness of their mat at 50-60 mil.

PRW Visits Jep Autoworks to Test and Tune our 1966 Ford Mustang 2021 Catalog Car

 

We took a field trip to JEP Autoworks in Hemet, CA to take a look at the progress of our 1966 Ford Mustang 2021 Catalog Car. The vehicle is near completion and we’re pleased with the wonderful results from JEP Autoworks and the Outstanding companies who helped build this Mustang from the ground up with their products.

Here’s a highlight video of the day showcasing some of the parts used and some dyno clips. We’ll be posting dyno runs and output information soon so stay tuned!

Steering is an essential part of a build which doesn’t get enough attention at times.  We’ve looked into what would fit best with our build and our choice was with Unisteer.  They carry great steering systems and components for classic and custom vehicles.  We’ve decided to pick part number 8001110-01-01 that can be seen here.

We liked how the kit was versatile enough to fit different builds, as stated on their website:

“The kit will work on Big Block and Small Block cars, and have been successfully used with Stock Manifolds, and Hooker Super Comp Headers. Other Headers may work, but we can’t guarantee an easy install. This kit requires the use of a mini starter. This kit may require some modifications on Mustangs with Dart Heads and other Aftermarket Heads requiring different headers.”

Installation was a breeze and we had no problems with clearance or any other issues. We’re starting to test drive our Mustang and hopefully testing it on a track soon.  We’ll be updating our testing soon!
